Student Life

X-CEL is a group for students from 6th to 12th grade. Our purpose is to help students see that the most fulfilling and exciting thing they can do with their lives is to have a relationship with Jesus. At X-CEL gatherings youth can experience life, laughter, music, friendship, and have a chance to dig deeper into the weekend message. All this in a safe place where youth can bring their friends and get plugged in with students and leaders who genuinely care about them! At TCC, we're all about connecting students with God and helping students connect their friends with God.

X-CEL is an experience designed just for youth.

Sunday Night Live
(For Grades 6 - 12 meets in the Loft from 6:30 - 8:15 pm)
Sunday Night Live is best described as a variety show much like “Saturday Night Live” that includes a host, a house band, a weekend update, videos, skits, games, and a teaching time that takes the weekend message and focuses on an aspect of it that is especially relevant to the youth. This talk is designed to set up the rest of the night, which is spent in "Community Groups". Community Groups are the place where youth can develop significant relationships with caring adults and other peers as they discuss in depth the topic of the night, play games, and generally hang out and have fun together. These groups sometimes also meet off site on different nights to hang out and have fun, and all groups will regularly get together for service projects.

Two:42
(For Grades 9 - 12 meets in the Loft from 6:30 - 8:30 pm every Wednesday)
Two:42 is for senior high students and is a more "laid back style" than SNL with the Loft organized in a "coffeehouse" style setting where hanging out with the teens and building relationships. A typical night there starts with hang out time, then games and other "get to know you" style ice breakers between smaller groups of students. Then we have a video or skit that again takes an aspect of the weekend message and digs deeper into it. Our talk style isn’t really a sermon but more of a discussion between the group. We then break into the smaller groups for more discussion on the topic or on anything else. We end the night with more games and/or hang out time. We will also regularly share a meal here about once a month and will involve the group in regular service projects as well as encouraging the entire group to attend services together regularly on the weekends.

Plug In!

As X-CEL continues to grow, we need more men and women who are willing to invest in the lives of our students! If you have a few hours a week, a love for students, and a desire to help them grow in their relationship with Christ...then we need you! The best part about volunteering is that we have fun doing it!
